Way to go slugger!

Congrats, Ben for finishing your first season of baseball! We look forward to many more.

First week out of school . . .

And here I thought life might slow down a little once school was out, WRONG! This last week has been crazy. It started with a quick trip to Utah for Grandpa Chappell's funeral. We will miss him but forever remember his stories.

Here are all the Chappell kids (except Casey) and all the grandkids.

Here are the 3 newest Chappell grandkids, the first time they've all been together. And quite a challenge to get them all to look at the camera.

We also took the kids to the circus this week. We found those hats at Target and the kids decorated them before we went. They were so excited and enjoyed every minute of it, except the walk out to the car afterwards. We even saw some friends there which made it all the more fun. Devri wasn't sure what to think. She was so excited watching the opening act and the next time I looked over at her, she was fast asleep. I guess she enjoyed herself too.

Since school is out I planned activities to keep the kids busy. One of them was rainbow pudding. Ben was most excited about this one. He loves pudding!

We rounded out the week attending Annie at the SuperSummer theater with some friends. It was a first for us but probably not the last, we had a great time. I was surprised the kids stayed awake through the whole show since it didn't start until after 8pm but they liked it. And since they had friends to keep them busy before the show, time went by fast. Next time I think we won't bother with the chairs- it was much harder to see sitting in the chairs.

My little project

I've been meaning to post this for a while but always seem to get side tracked. Anyway, this was a little project I was able to complete in my spare time (that means late at night when everyone else was asleep). I made the skirt, top, and the headband, but its especially cute on my smiling baby!!

O peaches, peaches, peaches!

We have 2 small peach trees in our backyard and WOW did they produce alot of peaches this year. That's the good news. The not so good news is that there were so many peaches 2 of our tree branches broke off and now the tree looks a bit funny. And the peaches weren't that big- they might of grown a little bit bigger but the birds were driving me crazy so I finally picked them all with Ben's help, of course.

And so what did we do with all those peaches you might ask, we made peach syrup and peach jam, Yummy! Although I'm not sure it was worth it- it took forever to cut up all those peaches!

Grandma & Grandpa come to visit

Last weekend was like a vacation for us. Grandma & Grandpa Chappell came to visit. We went to Bentley's last tball game but the other team no showed so it was more like a practice. Then we headed to Boulder City to see the Hoover Dam and we road the Souther Nevada Railway. Okay, so that wasn't all that exciting but it was better than cleaning the house. We took Devri swimming for the first time and she seemed to love it, sorry no pictures though. And Kierstyn and Ben loved staying at the "hotel" with grandma & grandpa!

How We Spent Memorial Day

On Memorial Day this year we went hiking in Zions National Park. It turned out to be a perfect day for hiking not too hot and not too cold. We let Blake pick the trail so it probably wasn't what I would have picked. It was the Hidden Canyon trail that lead up to a natural arch. Through one section we were walking along a steep cliff face with just a chain to hang on to, but it didn't seem to bother anyone but me. The kids had alot of fun, they carried their own food and water and lastest for about 6 hours. We also hiked out to the Emerald Pools, it was on the way back they started getting tired. Devri, seemed to have a great time riding around in the backpack and didn't complain at all. Can't wait to go again!

Preschool Graduation

Last week was also Ben's graduation from preschool. Wow, this year has really gone by fast. Ben has had so much fun in preschool this year and it was fun to watch him sing at graduation. He is so excited for Kindergarten next year because he can go to Kierstyn's school.
